Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and a commentator working with NBC News in Washington D.C. she is a TV anchor. She received an Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania after growing up in New York City. In the year 1967, Mitchell began her career as a reporter with KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia. 1996, she became a reporter for WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). In the following two years, she was hired by NBC News as a Washington correspondent. In 1981 began reporting on the White House and became chief Congress correspondent in 1988. Mitchell was appointed the Chief White House correspondent in 1992. And chief foreign affairs Correspondent for NBC News. Mitchell hosted and participated as a panelist at the TV show Meet the Press. Mitchell was a panelist at the 1988 debates with George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married with Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell won the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005 at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg the award in 2004 for her role in defending First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell initially covered the White House for NBC News from 1981 to 1988, during both Ronald Reagan's terms as President. Mitchell covered a range of notable stories, including weapons control, the budget tax reform as well as the Iran-contra scandal. Mitchell went on numerous trips along with President Reagan to meetings together with Mikhail Gorbachev and other world leaders.
